Hand-woven using the knotting method
Hand-woven rugs are created through a complicated, multi-stage process. The production of these modern carpets takes place in small villages in India, mainly in the Uttar Pradesh region, near the Ganges River. Experienced Indian weavers make each rug by hand, using an advanced and time-consuming knotting technique that includes 250 knots per square meter, which gives the rugs resilience and durability.
Once the knotting is finished, the craftsmen wash the carpets outdoors, using only clean water and traditional tools.
These rugs are extremely soft to the touch and significantly improve the acoustics of the room. Additionally, they help purify the air you breathe.
How to care for a wool rug?
To keep your carpet clean, remove dust and dirt from it regularly. Vacuum gently in the direction of the fibers, avoiding the use of chemicals.
We recommend vacuuming and shaking the carpet regularly to keep it in good condition. Avoid getting the carpet wet and be careful when mopping the floor.
Protect your rug from prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, which can lead to uneven color fading. Colors may fade over time, but this process should occur evenly over the entire surface of the carpet.
Pay particular attention to fringes and edges, which may be subject to wear. Make repairs as necessary.
If the carpet is on a slippery floor, we recommend using an anti-slip pad that can be cut to size.
Rotate your carpet at least twice a year to prevent uneven wear. For additional protection, place soft pads, such as felt, under the legs of heavy furniture sitting on carpet.
