Wool carpets they have amazing properties. Lanolin, a deeply moisturizing oil naturally found in sheep's wool, creates a protective coating that repels liquids and dirt. And the high elasticity of wool makes the carpet always look fresh.
Traditional dyeing techniques allow the colors to penetrate deep into the wool, keeping the rugs bright and vibrant – even after many years of use.
Hand-woven using the knotting method
Hand-knotted rugs are created through a complex, multi-step process that requires time and precision. The traditional craft of rug making is cultivated in small Indian villages, primarily in the Uttar Pradesh region in northern India, near the Ganges River. Each rug is handcrafted by experienced weavers who use the most demanding yet durable technique—knotting. This gives the rug exceptional resilience and durability.
Once the weaving process is complete, the artisans wash the carpet in the traditional way, outdoors, using only clean water and simple, proven tools.
The result of their work is an incredibly soft-to-the-touch carpet that not only improves room acoustics, but also supports natural air purification, bringing harmony and freshness to the interior.
How to care for a wool rug?
Keep your carpet free of dust and dirt. Vacuum gently, always in the direction of the pile, and avoid using chemicals.
Regular care includes vacuuming and lightly shaking the carpet. Avoid wetting the surface and be careful when mopping the floor near it.
Protect your rug from prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, as this can lead to uneven fading. Colors may fade slightly over time, but this should occur evenly across the entire surface.
Pay attention to fringes and edges, which can wear out over time – they can be easily renewed if necessary.
If the carpet is placed on a slippery floor, it is worth using a non-slip pad that can be adjusted to its dimensions.
For even wear, it's recommended to rotate the rug at least twice a year. For additional protection, place soft pads, such as felt, under the legs of heavy furniture.
