These rugs fold up made of virgin wool (80%) and cotton (20%), which makes them exceptionally soft and pleasant to the touch. Their unique, breathable structure improves room acoustics, maintains heat, regulates humidity and traps dust and chemicals, purifying the air you breathe.
Wool carpets have extraordinary properties. Lanolin, a natural oil contained in sheep wool, deeply moisturizes and creates a protective layer that protects against liquids and dirt. The high elasticity of wool makes the carpet always look like new.
Thanks to traditional dyeing techniques, the colors penetrate deeply into the wool, which allows the carpets to maintain bright and vivid colors for many years.
Hand-woven using the knotting method
Hand-woven carpets are the result of a complicated and time-consuming process that consists of many stages. Modern carpets are produced in small villages in India, mainly in the Uttar Pradesh region in the north of the country, near the Ganges River. They are made by weaving felted wool, which gives them a characteristic structure and provides unique visual and tactile experiences. The combination of different colored fibers creates an eye-pleasing melange.
How to care for a wool rug?
Maintain your carpet by regularly removing dust and dirt. Vacuum it gently, following the direction of the pile, avoiding the use of chemicals.
We recommend vacuuming and shaking the carpet regularly. Avoid soaking it and be careful when washing the floor.
Protect your rug from prolonged exposure to direct sunlight to avoid uneven fading. The colors will fade over time, but evenly over the entire surface of the carpet.
Pay special attention to fringes and edges that may be wearing out. They can be repaired if necessary.
If the carpet is placed on a slippery floor, we recommend using an anti-slip pad that can be cut to size.
We recommend turning your carpet at least twice a year to prevent uneven wear. For additional protection, it is worth placing soft pads, for example made of felt, under the legs of heavy furniture standing on the carpet.
