Hand-woven
Hand-woven rugs are created thanks to a complicated, multi-stage process. Production takes place in small villages in India, especially in the Uttar Pradesh region, near the Ganges River. Experienced Indian weavers handcraft each rug using an advanced and time-consuming knotting technique that includes up to 250 knots per square meter, which gives the rugs resilience and durability.
Once knotting is complete, artisans traditionally wash the rugs outdoors, using only clean water and traditional tools.
These carpets are exceptionally soft to the touch, significantly improve interior acoustics and help purify the air you breathe.
How to care for a wool rug?
To keep your carpet clean, remove dust and dirt regularly. Vacuum it gently in the direction of the bristles, avoiding the use of chemicals.
It is recommended to vacuum and shake the carpet regularly to keep it in good condition. Avoid getting the carpet wet and be careful when mopping the floor.
Protect your rug from prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, which can cause colors to fade unevenly. The colors may fade over time, but this should happen evenly over the entire surface of the carpet.
Pay particular attention to fringes and edges, which may wear out. Repair them as necessary.
If the carpet is placed on a slippery floor, it is recommended to use an anti-slip pad that can be adjusted to the appropriate dimensions.
Rotate your carpet at least twice a year to avoid uneven wear. For additional protection, place soft pads, such as felt, under the legs of heavy furniture sitting on carpet.
