Hand-woven
Hand-woven rugs are created thanks to a complex, multi-stage process. Their production takes place in small Indian villages, especially in the Uttar Pradesh region, close to the Ganges River. Experienced Indian weavers handcraft each rug using an advanced and time-consuming knotting technique that includes 250 knots per square meter, giving the rugs resilience and durability.
Once the knotting process is complete, artisans traditionally wash the carpets outdoors, using only clean water and traditional tools.
These carpets are exceptionally soft to the touch, significantly improve interior acoustics and help purify the air you breathe.
How to care for a wool rug?
To keep your carpet clean, remove dust and dirt from it regularly. Vacuum it gently in the direction of the bristles, avoiding the use of chemicals.
Regular vacuuming and beating of the carpet is recommended to maintain its good condition. Avoid getting the carpet wet and be careful when mopping the floor.
Protect your rug from prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, which can cause colors to fade unevenly. The colors may fade over time, but this process should occur evenly over the entire surface of the carpet.
Pay special attention to fringes and edges that may be wearing out. Repair them as necessary.
If the carpet is placed on a slippery floor, it is recommended to use an anti-slip pad that can be adjusted to the appropriate dimensions.
Rotate your carpet at least twice a year to avoid uneven wear. For additional protection, place soft pads, such as felt, under the legs of heavy furniture sitting on the carpet.
