Hand-woven using the knotting method
Hand-woven carpets are the result of a complex production process. In small villages in India, especially in the region of Uttar Pradesh on the Ganges River, skilled craftsmen create modern carpets using an advanced knotting technique, reaching a density of approximately 250 knots per square meter. This method gives the carpets flexibility and durability.
After the binding process is completed, the carpets are washed outdoors using traditional methods, clean water and tools.
These carpets are exceptionally soft and significantly improve interior acoustics, reducing echo and noise. Additionally, they help purify the air by retaining chemicals, and their breathable structure helps keep the room warm.
How to care for a wool rug?
Maintain your carpet by regularly removing dust and other dirt. Vacuum in the direction of the fibers so as not to damage their structure, and avoid using chemical cleaning agents.
When washing floors, try not to soak the carpet.
Protect the carpet from prolonged exposure to direct sunlight to avoid uneven color fading. Natural fading is normal, but should be even.
Regularly check the condition of the carpet fringes and edges, which may be worn out but can be repaired.
If the rug is on a slippery surface, use an appropriate pad to keep it stable.
Rotate your carpet at least twice a year to prevent uneven wear. To protect against dents from heavy furniture, use soft pads, such as felt ones.
