Hand-woven using the knotting method
Hand-woven rugs are created thanks to a complicated, multi-stage process. The production of modern carpets takes place in small villages in India, mainly in the Uttar Pradesh region, near the Ganges River. Experienced Indian weavers make each carpet by hand, using an advanced and time-consuming knotting technique (250 knots per m2), which gives the carpets elasticity and durability.
Once the knotting is finished, the craftsmen wash the carpets outdoors, using only clean water and traditional tools.
These carpets are extremely soft to the touch and significantly improve the acoustics of the interior. In addition, they help purify the air you breathe.
How to care for a wool rug?
To keep your carpet clean, remove dust and dirt regularly. Vacuum it gently in the direction of the pile, avoiding the use of chemicals.
We recommend vacuuming and shaking the carpet regularly to keep it in good condition. Avoid getting the carpet wet and be careful when mopping the floor.
Protect your rug from prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, which can cause colors to fade unevenly. Colors may fade over time, but this should occur evenly over the entire surface of the carpet.
Pay particular attention to fringes and edges, which may be subject to wear. They can be repaired if necessary.
If the carpet is on a slippery floor, we recommend using an anti-slip pad that can be cut to size.
Turn your carpet at least twice a year to avoid uneven wear. For additional protection, place soft pads, such as felt, under the legs of heavy furniture sitting on carpet.
